Roadtrip #1 : Innsbruck, Austria (Day 1)

Roadtrip #1 : Innsbruck, Austria (Day 1)

Beautiful mountains, view from the car Innsbruck is probably the place we went to that I prefered. I mean, I enjoyed this entire roadtrip but there’s something magical about being between mountains on wonderfully warm summer days, wandering around the old city and just enjoying it.

We were sleeping at the Olympiaworld Innsbruck. The rooms were spacious and very nice. If you click the link, you’ll see detailed pictures of the room, including the gigantic bathroom. It was really comfortable to stay there. Breakfasts were included in the rooms’ price, it was a « eat as much as you like » buffet with brötchen (typical bread), cheeses, meats and lots of different sweet things.

There is a TV in each room which is included in the price. We got to see Harry Potter in German, hilarious for my husband who can’t speak a word of german.

Our hotel was a good 20 minutes walk from the center of Innsbruck but I saw there are some bus that can get you there faster, we just didn’t use them.

It was impressive to be stuck between these high mountains. I loved that.

We also saw some very nice buildings…

Beautiful paintings on the building As it is not a enormous city, there was not a lot of tourists, it was calm and beautiful. We met a lot of street artists and I even learned to make enormous bubbles using the wind.

He was way better than me, obviously We stopped by in a pub to have something to eat.

Address :
Theresienbrauerei
Maria-Theresien-Straße 51–53
A-6020 Innsbruck

My husband ordered the dish pictured below for 10,90€, I can’t remember the name of it. But it was some pork sausages with herbs served with roasted potatoes and sauerkraut. Delicious.

Nicely served I went for a traditional option, Currywurst (10,90€) which is a simple pork sausage served with fries, ketchup and curry powder. That was yummy and just enough for my little hunger.

Then, we walked a little bit and  I found this restaurant which is the cutest thing, right ?

Cutest restaurant Then we found the city’s bridge and we admired the mountains and the water, peaceful.

Peaceful water Then we decided it was time to go back to the hotel to rest a little bit to enjoy the following day.

Next post will be about our 2nd day in Innsbruck !
