Potatoes röstis

Potatoes röstis

One day I’ll be rigorous with this blog but it is apparently not today. I’m working on it.

Well, I know. This is far too easy of a recipe to appear on a « food blog » BUT it is a good recipe for a brunch or to serve as a side dish of meat. That’s how I remembered it, while improvising a brunch for my husband and I.

You know, these moments when it is almost noon, you’ve not eaten any breakfast yet because you little one(s) doesn’t let you sit down for A SECOND and your husband starts questioning you about lunch. Well, you improvise. Quickly. While trying to do something good. Because you can not decently eat processed food every da. (I SEE YOU, don’t tell me you’re eating home made granolas 365 days per year!)

You need a very few ingredients to do that, it would be a shame not to taste it. Just saying.

Potatoes röstis (4 röstis) :

  • 500g potatoes
  • Salt & pepper
  • Butter

Grate the potatoes, not too thin. Don’t rince it, the starch will stick the pieces of potatoes together while cooking.

Mix in a bowl with your desired amount of salt and pepper. You can add whatever spices you like too.

Heat butter in a non stick pan, form the röstis and put it in the pan. Fry for 5-7 minutes on each side and/or until golden and crispy.

DONE ! Eat warm with whatever you like. It’s not a Diktat blog anyway.
