Vanilla and chocolate marble cake

Vanilla and chocolate marble cake

If you are looking for a mid afternoon snack idea for your kids (or yourself, I mean I would), here is the recipe that you need. Simple, cute : winner.

A marble cake probably reminisces some childhood memories for you. At least it does for me. I personally love the marble cake from french brand Savane, it is my all time favorite. This one is equally as good. It is moist, tender, vanilla flavored and you eat one slice and then BAM the whole cake is gone. Yep, that kind of good.

If you don’t have coconut oil, use 150g butter instead. The fattier, the better, right? Right!

Vanilla and chocolate marble cake :

  • 3 eggs
  • 150g flour
  • 150g sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 40g coconut oil
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 to 3 tbsp milk

Preheat your oven at 210°C (410°F).

Beat the eggs with the sugar. Meanwhile, melt your coconut oil and butter.
Add flour, yeast, melted butter and oil in the bowl and mix very well.

Divide your mixture in two bowls. In one bowl, add vanilla extract. In the other one, add the cacao powder. The cacao one will be tougher so add a tablespoon milk at a time until it softens a little bit.

Grease a pan and add a bit of chocolate, a bit of vanilla and go on until everything is gone.

Bake for 20 minutes at 210°C (410°F) then lower the temperature to 180°C (356°F) for another 20 minutes.

Serve with a cold glass of milk!
