The smoothest chocolate mousse (4 ingredients)

Is the sun going to shine for a whole week without rain? I highly doubt that. Mid-may and it pours. Interesting weather. I’m making the most of it by making absolute comfort food dessert. I can, I mean it’s raining, right?

Nothing better than a good soft and smooth chocolate mousse for dessert. It is so simple. I like to add just a little bit of sugar and butter but that is because I HATE dark chocolate so it sweetens it a bit and makes it extra gourmet.

Chocolate covered face because that little girl loves to taste everything in the kitchen…

The smoothest chocolate mousse (serves 4) :

  • 6 eggs
  • 37g butter
  • 37g sugar
  • 225g dark chocolate

In a waterbath, melt chocolate and butter together stirring often.

Meanwhile, separate the whites from the eggs yolks in two different bowls. Beat the yolks with the sugar until fluffy and thick.

Beat the whites with a pinch of salt until it’s firm and peaky.

Let your chocolate/butter mixture cool for 3-4 minutes before adding the egg yolks. Mix until you get an even mix.

With a spatula or wooden spoon, add the whites very carefully and slowly until it is all even.

Pour in a serving bowl or smaller glasses and refrigerate for 24 hours.

Serve!
