Ham cheese and garlic pesto pinwheels

Ham cheese and garlic pesto pinwheels

My inspiration is at the lowest at the moment, maybe due to the lack of sun or overall tiredness but I have a hard time keeping the blog updates! So I decided why not make something really easy, tasty and fancy looking : ham, cheese and garlic pesto pinwheels.

The middle green part is a pesto-like thing with only garlic + parsley + olive oil. It just adds to the flavor of everything else. To make it even easier, you can use store bought pesto. It bakes for 15 minutes or less so it’s quickly done and it looks great in my opinion.

Ham cheese and garlic pesto pinwheels (9 pinwheels) :

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 3 slices of ham
  • 2 handful grated cheese
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 handful parsley leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg

In a food processeur or blender, add peeled garlic, parsley and olive oil. Mix until you get a paste like consistency.

Preheat the oven at 180°C/350°F.

On the puff pastry sheet, add ham starting from one side on 3/4 of the surface.

On the ham, add the cheese. There is a side where the ham is at the edge of the pastry, add on top a fine line of garlic pesto. Roll really tight starting with the pesto side.

Cut the roll in pieces. Line on a baking sheet.

Brush it with an egg wash it for the golden look.

Bake for 10-12 minutes but keep a close eye on it because it burns fast!

Serve warm.
