Fall quiche with fresh figs and goat cheese

Fall quiche with fresh figs and goat cheese

I feel like I have had an obsession with quiches lately. I made one with spinach and goat cheese, one with zucchinis and now this one with figs and goat cheese! But I mean… So easy to make, so delicious and so fun to work with. You can basically make everything into a quiche.

Those juicy figs from the farmers’ market were calling my name, I bought some very delicious fresh goat cheese and called it dinner served with a side of lettuce! Perfect light dinner for busy weeknight. Temps are going lower so I can finally use my oven without sweating 2 gallons of water. Talk about relief.

Do you guys like figs? What do you like to make with them? I also have a pretty delicious baked figs stuffed with goat cheese up here, it really is a perfect combo.

Fall quiche with fresh figs and goat cheese (serves 4-6) :

  • 1 short pastry
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 fresh figs
  • 100g fresh goat cheese
  • 1 handful grated cheese
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • Salt and pepper

Preheat the oven at 350°F/180°C.

In a big bowl, beat the eggs with sour cream, milk and crumbled goat cheese.

Add the grated cheese, season and mix well.

Put the short pastry in a pie or quiche dish. Poke holes in it with a fork.

Slice the figs and put it at the bottom of the quiche. Pour the quiche mixture on top.

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
