Jalapeños, cheddar and bacon bread

Flavored breads are absolutely perfect for a light dinner served with a salad or for a quick lunch on the go! It can be eaten warm or chilled. I made this one with jalapeños, cheddar and bacon. I really liked this flavor combo!

If you don’t really like spicy food, start little with about 20g. If you don’t mind, put 70 to 100g! Those chilis are not mouth burning so you get the nice kicks and flavor without losing your tongue.

Jalapeños, cheddar and bacon bread :

  • 200g flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 100g bacon
  • 10cl olive oil
  • 10cl milk
  • 15g baking powder
  • 140g grated cheddar
  • 20g to 70g jalapeños
  • Salt and pepper

Preheat the oven at 180°C/350°F.

Fry the bacon bits in a pan, let aside to cool.

In a big bowl, mix the eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and oil until you get an even mixture.

Add the milk a couple tablespoons at a time, mix until evenly incorporated.

Add the bacon bits, cheddar (100g) and chopped jalapeños. Mix.

Grease the cake pan and pour the mixture in.

Put a few jalapeños slices on top and sprinkle the reminding 40g of cheddar.

Bake for 15 minutes at 180°C/350°F. Lower the oven temp to 150°C/300°F and bake for 15 more minutes.

Let it cool slightly before removing the pan.
