Pork rolls in mushroom sauce

Pork rolls in mushroom sauce

This one is a perfect recipe if you are in a hurry and don’t want to think about what to make! You get a delicious saucy meal in 30 minutes and it doesn’t make the whole kitchen a mess.

I would usually add sour cream to my mushroom sauce but this time we shared dinner with a lactose intolerant friend so I used veal stock to get it thicker and it was delicious!

I don’t often eat pork rolls but I love it! I almost forgot how good these are. Here is a good reminder that simple is always a good idea.

Pork rolls in mushroom sauce (serves 6)

  • 6 pork rolls
  • 10 big button mushrooms
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp veal stock (dehydrated)
  • 30cl water
  • Salt and pepper

In a deep pan, add a tablespoon of oil.

Brown the pork rolls on all sides.

Meanwhile, cut the onion in small pieces and mince the garlic cloves.

Slice the mushrooms.

When pork rolls are browned, take it out of the pan and set aside.

Add your onion and garlic to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring regularly.

Add the mushrooms. Let it cook for 5 minutes, stir occasionally.

Add the veal stock and water, mix well.

Put the pork rolls back in the pan, cover with a lid.

Let it cook gently for 20 minutes. Serve warm over fluffy rice or potatoes.
