Banana bread

Banana bread

Ladies and gentleman, this cake is the banana cake that I’ve ever eat. Therefore, the pictures are awful. Well yeah, we took a really quick picture, then we went to some friend’s house to eat it. Sorry for the bad quality but my tummy couldn’t wait.

We had two bananas left that were really really ripe (actually all black) and as I don’t like to waste, we did a cake. I followed the recipe of Smitten Kitchen but I personnalized it a bit with what I got at home.

I really encourage you to try this recipe, it is craaaazy delicious. It is fluffy, chocolate-flavoured with a delicate taste of banana. Lovely.

Banana bread :

  • 2 to 3 very ripe bananas
  • 115g melted butter
  • 130g brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125g all-purpose flour
  • 200g dark chocolate

Preheat your oven at 180°C (356°F). Butter a loaf pan.

Melt your chocolate in the micro-wave.

In a bowl, mash your bananas with a fork. Add butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and stir well. Then add the dry ingredient : flour, baking soda and salt. Stir and add your chocolate.

Pour into the pan and bake for about 55 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes in the pan before putting in onto a cooling rack.
