Visiting Toulon in 2 days

If you have the occasion to spend a weekend in Toulon, south of France, here is a little program for you to make the most of your trip there!
Get up early on Saturday morning and eat breakfast on the harbor.
Then, head to cours Lafayette to enjoy the farmer’s market, listen to the beautiful southern accent of the farmers. Buy some tomatoes « de provence » or some gigantic figs!
Don’t forget to eat a piece of Cade, it’s a local flat bread made with chickpea flour and olive oil, delicious.
Look around you to see the cutest houses of provence. If you go to the tourism office, they have map for you to visit all the monuments that have to be seen here.
Go check out the Place de la Liberté, the opera or the Alexander 1st gardens to sit and rest your feet (if you have kids there is a cool play area in theses gardens).
In the afternoon, go check the Mourillon beach to take a dip and enjoy warm weather. (it was very windy when we went but we soaked our feet and were very happy!)
Sunday morning, I got big plans for you. Take a bus up to the cable car of the Mont Faron. The cable car costs 7,5€ but you can buy a ticket at the general bus station that costs 6€ and includes illimited bus+boats and a cable car pass, it is perfect for tourists. I hope for you they’ll have some because when we went they didn’t and I was very frustrated. The people there don’t speak english very good too so… Be ready to explain with your hands and papers. That is THAT bad.
Sunday afternoon, you’re going to make the most of your illimited transports ticket. Take the boat to St Mandrier sur mer, it is the cutest little town with a few tiny beaches where you can lay down and swim a bit (or play and eat the sand you know, kids things).
The landscape is absolutely AMAZING. I loved it. If you stay for dinner, you’ll see it is way more expensive than Toulon itself!
In 2 days, you’ll have done everything from swimming, sunbathing, eating and visiting : pretty good plans. We really liked it!
