Snail shaped tuna and tomatoes puff pastry roll
Do you guys have kids? I have an almost-three-year-old that just simply won’t eat tomatoes. She eats everything else BUT that. So, of course, Mama turned it into a snail and everything was absolutely delicious. Ha, kids.
Anyway, this is my vision of convenient food. Serve it as an appetizer, a starter or turn it into dinner with a big salad on the side. It’s full of flavors and you can really put what you want in there.
What do you fill your puff pastries with ? I also really like the ones with potatoes and ground beef but it is not as light as this one is.
Snail shaped tuna and tomatoes stuffed puff pastry (serves 4) :
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 can of tuna (200g)
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 onion
- 1 tbsp sour cream
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander
- Sesame and poppy seeds
- Salt and pepper
Preheat the oven at 180C°/350°F.
Chop your tomatoes in small pieces and minced the onion.
In a pan, add a little bit of oil and fry the onion and tomatoes for 5 minutes. Add garlic, coriander, lemon juice and season to taste. Cover and let the tomatoes melt down for 5 minutes.
Drain the tuna and add it to the pan. Mix.
Add the sour cream and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
Add the tuna mixture on one end of the puff pastry and roll as tight as you can.
Shape it like a snail by rolling on the side too.
Brush with a little bit of milk and sprinkle sesame and poppy seeds.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Serve warm or cold.
