Butter chicken

I ordered that recently at an Indian restaurant and wondered why I never tried doing it at home, I love it! And I think I kind of nailed it. I am very happy with this version. The sauce is thick and full of flavors!

Of course, for the extra Indian restaurant feeling, I made homemade naans and it was so good. I really recommend putting the effort into making some if you make this recipe. A little squeeze of lime for some brightness and you’re set for a delicious meal.
Butter chicken (serves 4) :
- 400g chicken breast
- 50g butter
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 150g greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp garam massala
- 1 tsp fresh minced ginger
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 300ml tomato sauce
- 1 bay leave
- 150ml sour cream
- 150ml water
- Coriander to garnish
- Naans to serve
In a bowl, mix all the spices, yogurt, bay leave, chicken, salt, ginger and grated garlic.
Mince the onion finely.
In a pot, sweat the onion in the butter for 3 minutes.
Add the marinated chicken and the marinade. Let it brown for a bit.
Add the tomatoes (pasta and sauce) and water. Let it cook covered for 20 minutes.
Add the sour cream and cook 5 more minutes uncovered.
Garnish with fresh coriander and a fresh naan!
