Fried paprika chicken bites
Nothing quite as delicious as a big bowl of fried chicken after a long long day. Healthier than KFC, cheaper and very delicious. I made a sweet and savory spice mix that I absolutely loved in this recipe.
Fry the chicken enough time for it to be cooked inside but also very crispy outside, that take it to the next level of deliciousness.
Fried paprika chicken bites (serves 2-3):
For the marinade
- 400g cubed chicken
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
For the spice mix :
- 3 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp white sugar
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 4 tsp paprika
For the frying :
- 90g four
- 180g kefir/buttermilk
- 150g breadcrumb
- Salt and pepper
Mix all the ingredients of the marinade together in a bowl and add the chicken.
Marinate for at least 30 minutes to overnight.
Prep your spice mix in a bowl where you will be able to dip your fried chicken pieces.
Heat vegetable oil for frying.
In a 3 separate bowls, add flour (seasoned with salt and pepper), buttermilk and breadcrumbs.
Dip each piece of chicken in flour then buttermilk then breadcrumbs before frying for 4-5 minutes. It should be golden brown.
Transfer the fried chicken pieces to the spice mix bowl and mix well.
Put the spice covered fried chicken in a bowl and enjoy while still warm!
