Ground beef cannelloni

Ground beef cannelloni

This is such a comfort food for me, it's like when you get home after a long day and serve yourself a big slice of lasagna. It's even better because the shape is funny and it's super easy to make.

I just made a bolognese sauce, filled the cannelloni with it, sprinkled with grated cheese and 20 minutes later you have a delicious dinner ready. Serve it with a salad and it's just perfect. Hits the spot everytime.

Ground beef cannelloni (serves 2-3) :

  • 300g ground beef
  • 12 cannelloni
  • 1 large onion
  • 700g tomato purée
  • 6 basil leaves
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 handful grated cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Chop the onion and mince the garlic.

In a pan, add a little bit of olive oil and brown the ground beef.

After 5 minutes, add onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

When the onion is translucent, add chopped basil, tomato purée and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven at 180°C/350°F.

Add a layer of sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.

Fill your cannelloni with the meat sauce and add them to the baking dish.

Add the leftover sauce on top of the cannelloni and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Bake for 20 minutes and serve warm!
