BBQ glazed chicken wings

BBQ glazed chicken wings

A few weeks ago I posted a recipe for these garlic and honey glazed wings, today we're making homemade BBQ sauce to glaze our wings! It's kinda messy to eat but it's soooo good so I don't care.

The baking powder and salt before cooking the wings is to absorb all the moisture and make it extra crispy! So don't skip that step, it's so important! Homemade BBQ sauce takes a bit more time but it's definitely worth it, it is sooo good. You'll have a little bit more sauce than what you need but that only means you'll get to enjoy it with other food too!

BBQ glazed chicken wings :

  • 1 pound (500g) chicken wings
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt

For the sauce :

  • 1 cup (240g) ketchup
  • 1/4 cup (65g) brown sugar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) water
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Preheat the oven at 200°C/400°F.

Dry the wings with paper towels so they are really dry.

Add the wings to a glass dish, sprinkle salt and baking powder. Mix it well and set aside.

Put the wings on parchment paper covered baking sheet, space them. Bake it for 20 minutes until golden and crispy.

While the wings are baking, prep the sauce.

Add all the ingredients into a small sauce pan, bring it to a boil and lower the heat. Let the sauce reduce for about 10 minutes, stir often.

When the wings are cooked, dip them in the sauce and serve while it's warm!
