Roasted pears with vanilla yogurt and toasted hazelnuts

Pears roasted with spices and maple syrup, vanilla yogurt and all of that sprinkled with toasty hazelnuts. This dessert looks very fancy and festive while it's super simple. That's what the people need !

There's 10 minutes of prep, the rest is cooking time. Time you can use to do whatever else you want. It's perfect. You could replace the hazelnuts with pistachios or walnuts. Bonus point for the smell of pear and spices in the whole house while it's baking...

Roasted pears with vanilla yogurt and toasted hazelnuts (serves 4) :

  • 2 large pears
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 130g greek yogurt
  • 1/4 vanilla bean
  • 10g sugar
  • 20g softened butter
  • 20 hazelnuts

Halve the pear and core them.

Preheat the oven at 180°C/350°F.

Mix the spices in a small bowl.

Put the pears in an oven safe dish.

Spread the butter onto the pears and sprinkle with the spice mix.

Add the maple syrup on top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes.

Meanwhile, toast the hazenults in a pan with no added fat.

Chop them roughly.

Mix the yogurt with the sugar and vanilla bean.

When the pears are tenders, fill the hole with yogurt and sprinkle with hazelnuts.
