Pulled chicken tacos with Shilly Shally

Pulled chicken tacos with Shilly Shally

If you want to put some sunshine in your plate, this very easy taco recipe is just what you're looking for. Pulled chicken, lettuce and a smokey hot sauce from Shilly Shally.

It's stupidly easy to make but the spice blend + hot sauce really make it a delicious dish. You can add any other toppings you like.

I've used wheat tortillas but you can also use corn tortillas, both are fine. Take the smallest you can find for a tacos version or bigger ones to make wraps.

To make pulled chicken very easily and efficiently, I have a tip. Put the cooked chicken breasts in the bowl of your stand mixer with the paddle attachement, turn it on on the lowest speed and watch your chicken get perfectly pull apart. So easy!

Pulled chicken tacos with Shilly Shally (serves 4-5) :

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 lime
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the toppings :

Mix the herbs and spices in a big bowl : cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, pepper, thyme and salt.

Add the lime juice and olive oil. Mix well.

Add the chicken and make sure it's well covered. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to two hours.

Heat a frying pan on high, don't add any fat, brown the chicken on one side for 5 minutes then flip it and cook it 5 more minutes. Must be golden brown.

Lower the heat on low, add the remaining marinade and cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook on low for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, shred the lettuce and dice the avocados.

Pull the chicken using a stand mixer (see above for tips) or with two forks.

Reheat the tortillas on the stove for a few seconds or in the oven.

Take a tortilla, add chicken, lettuce, avocado and some Chihuahua Chipotle hot sauce.

Enjoy!
