Shrimp fajitas

Shrimp fajitas

Shrimps fajitas are a nice twist to more traditional chicken fajitas (which recipe you can find here), with lots of spices. Colorful and ridiculously fun to eat, what's not to love?

Toppings wise, we usually go for : tangy yogurt sauce, avocado, lime, cilantro. You could use jalapeños, cheese or fresh tomatoes (when in season). I count 4 to 5 tortillas per person but I always end up being full by 3!

Shrimps fajitas (serves 4) :

  • 500g cooked shrimps
  • 2 bellpeppers
  • 1 lime
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Salt
  • Oil

Mince onion and garlic cloves.

Slice bell peppers thinly.

Peel the shrimps if needed and clean it if the intestines are still in there by making an incision on the top of the shrimp, then pull.

In a deep pan, add oil and cook onion, garlic and spices for 4-5 minutes.

Add bellpeppers and cook 7 more minutes, mixing occasionnally.

Add shrimps and lime juice. Let it cook 5 minutes.

Sprinkle with fresh cilantro.

Serve with warm tortillas!
