Hiyayakko, wakame and ginger silken sofu

Hiyayakko, wakame and ginger silken sofu

Here's a nice side dish (or light main) main idea, coming straight from Japan. Hiyayakko is silken tofu with toppings. Here I chose to put ginger, wakame seaweed and a little sauce to season it all. It only requires 5 ingredients, it's so quick and easy to make.

You can find it with katsuobushi on top, avocado, tomatoes... So you might see other variations of this dish on the blog soon ! It's great to eat when it's hot outside, it's super refreshing.

Hiyayakko, wakame and ginger silken sofu (serves 2) :

  • 150g silken tofu block
  • 2 tsp dried wakame seaweed
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce

Put the tofu block in a plate.

Hydrate the seaweed in warm water for a few minutes.

Drain the seaweed and put it, as well as the ginger, on top of the silken sofu.

Season with soy sauce and rice vinegar.

Serve cold.
