Flank steak with shallots sauce
I looked for a shallots sauce recipe on soooo many different websites before choosing one. I thought that it would be the same sauce that is a bistrot tradition in France. Well, it is not. At first, I was so disappointed and I said « I’m clearly not gonna publish it ! » Then we ate it and it was delicious. A little bit sour but oh so good with the potatoes and the flank steaks.
So don’t think you are going to recreate the sauce of your favorite bistrot but try this one, it is really different and really good.
Flank steak with shallots sauce (serves 2) :
- 2 flank steaks
- 4 shallots
- 1 little glass of red wine
- 1 tbsp wine vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp flour
- 1 knob of butter
- Salt & pepper
Put your shallots and butter in a pan, on medium low heat.
When it starts browning, add the wine, vinegar, salt and pepper.
Let it reduce on low heat (20-25 minutes). After 10 minutes, add the flour and stir thoroughly to avoid lumps.
Let it reduce a little bit more if you prefer it thicker.
Cook your flank steaks as you like and put the sauce on it in the plat.
